KWL Causes of Civil War
Know:
That some causes where Abraham Lincoln coming to be president.
More and more people started to work in factories and because of that they needed people to work in the factories so they had to use slaves. One main factor was that people have owned slaves and some people did not want them so they had to make a war of what would have slaves and what would not. In the end they had no slaves.
Before the war the southern states had slaves and the northern states did not when Abraham Lincoln came to power he wanted all the states not to be slaves states and that all of them would be free states, the south was not very happy with that so they only way it would work was to go to war. Abraham Lincoln was trying to talk it out with the south but they didn't let him.
Want To Know:
Why if they had factories and the factories did the work they would need slave to do some of the work. Why people would become mad that other people are using slaves if some are treating them as if they were part of the family and that it wasn't such a bad idea after all.
Why the southern states didn't just want to talk things out.
Learned:
Part of the things that led to the civil war was the Kansas-Nebraska act and that it was made because they had many people who had wanted slavery and some people who didn't want slaves, so they had to split them into territories and each one would have slaves and not have them but that didn't work out so they had to make the treaty to make each state different.
